It’s the first off-week for the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series and it’s a well deserved one for all the top drivers. The first 7 races of the year have been absolutely crazy and unpredictable, thanks to the new stage format racing. Love it or hate it, stage racing has no doubt added an element of drama, suspense and excitement to the races.
When it comes to Dale Jr., it has been a very slow start with his best finish heading into Texas being just 14th at Phoenix. Texas’ repave was a complete reset for everybody involved but the NO. 88 team was able to catch on early with a fast car that was able to drive from 37th to 5th, Jr.’s best finish of the season through 7 races.
The Monster Energy Cup season picks back up at Bristol Motor Speedway on Sunday, April 23rd with a start time around 2 PM EST. The race will be live on your local FOX network. Maybe, just maybe, Dale Jr. will be able to return to victory lane for his second career victory at one of his favorite tracks.
As many of you are aware, I have been completely absent from the website since Atlanta race weekend. My life has become pretty crazy for the past month . . . I just completed a move into a new apartment while balancing work and school. I have been a little bit overwhelmed to say the least. I still have time to watch the races though . . . for the most part. I will be back full-time once school wraps up in early June.
