  1. I’ve got a legitimate question that I really need an answer to. Junior blew that right rear tire and came down pit road to get new ones with about a dozen laps left in Stage 1. I believe that was about the point in that stage if I’m remembering right. Now, I realize that fresh tires meant a lot of speed. With that said, why didn’t they take the waive around and get back to one lap down? It was only 10 laps on tires. Fresh tires didn’t really start making a huge difference until they were around 20 to 25 laps fresher. They could have taken the waive around, pitted when they got into a fuel window, and if it cycled through, they would have gotten a free lap back. The worse that could have happened is that Harvick would have come around and put them that second lap back down, but even as fast as he was, I don’t think that he would have run him down before the 88 entered its pit window. Hell, take the waive around, and you might get lucky with a quick caution and the lap is free. Am I missing something? Did they only take rights? Even then, I might have tried it and hoped for that quick caution.

    1. I wondered the same thing, man. But I didn’t put much thought into it. I figured the guys on the pitbox are making the big bucks and were figuring what they did was the best way to salvage positions.

      1. I can only think of a couple of reasons why they wouldn’t do that. There’s one that I know of. They came in and took the time to repair damage from the blown tire. Secondly, I don’t really remember if they took fuel or not on that stop to replace the tire. They may could have not been able to make it to the fuel window in the next stage. To be honest, if the damage was the reason and not fuel, then I think that I would have still taken the waive around.

  2. You know… Coming into this year, I had decided that all the 88 Team had to do was to be mistake free. I figured that if they did that, then they would have a shot at winning. I tune in today and all that I see is mistake after mistake. This team was a failure today.

        1. No, I’m not being sarcastic and I’m not kidding.
If you had been here earlier you would have seen that Greg Ive’s mother had just passed away.
They even mentioned that on the TV coverage.

          Sheez!

    1. Kez did have a really strong car.

I think that NA$CAR has decided that it’s Ford’s turn to win lots this year.

Turdota had their chances with all their money now it’s Ford’s turn to buy off the boy King.
